At the beginning of Desert Storm, 15 Desert Storm Presentation Glocks with a serial number starting with UD were given to selected persons in the President Bush administration and Department of Defense.įor Glock's 10th anniversary, 200 special handguns were commissioned with the serial numbers beginning with AGM. Glock also made pistols for special occasions and they would have unique serial numbers. It looks like it is a Gen2.5 that was probably made in January 1996. So they have a batch of 1,000 pistols that are serial numbered from BSW000 to BSW999, then 1,000 that are BSX000 to BSX999, and so on. The number would start with the department initials followed by 4 numbers, and end with US.Įxamples would be Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP + badge #), New Orleans Police Department (NOLA + badge #), and the Texarkana Arkansas Police (TAPD + badge #). If they just stuck with numbers they could only get 10 numbers per place, 0-9. Often police departments with large orders would ask for custom serial numbers. Ten years later in January 2010 Glock was using PCL. By January 2000, the numbers started with DLU. AAA started in March 1992 and by only September 94 reached AZZ. The AA series started on October 1986 and took until March 1992 to hit ZZ. If your pistol has a US at the serial number end that means it was an United State import. At that point the letters rolled over to AAA000. When it rolled over at AA999 they began again at AB000 up to ZZ999. AA000 was the start of the serial numbers.
