Aside from purchasing new towers, you can also use the money you've earned to upgrade your lower level towers that are already in place. This can sometimes be multiple waves worth of credits. Most of the time in order to get them, you have to have enough money saved up. Some of the towers are rather expensive, but you can expect to destroy a lot more of the creeps because of them. This is do to the fact that most of the tower defense games have several different types of enemies that have all sorts of abilities.
